What is SMSJOCK.COM

SMSJOCK.COM is a service of FEEDTEXT INC. that enables a TV station to interact with its viewers via text messaging. A viewer can send messages, requests, join a poll, a contest, get alerts and register his nickname.

What is a KEYWORD?

A KEYWORD is usually the TV Station name or code. Ex. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN etc.

How can I create additional users for my TV station moderators?

Only the account administrator or the one who signed up with SMSJOCK can create users. To create users, the administrator should login to his account and click on the users tab.
Note: download the manual by clicking the tutorials button while logged on.

What is a TV Alert?

TV alert is special feature of SMSJOCK that will enable a TV station to create alerts (news, events, announcements and quotes). You can only create alerts if you activate this option during registration. If you activated this feature, the TV station can create and send 1 alert per day to all its TV Alert subscribers or send a maximum of 7 alerts per week.

Are the TV Stations required to send alerts to their subscribers?

If the TV Station enabled the subscription service during registration, the radio station is required to send at least 3 alerts per week to his subscriber base.

What kind of alerts will the subscriber receive from the TV Alert?

They will receive News alerts, Events, Announcements and Quotes.

Who manages the Alerts to be delivered to the users?

The TV stations are the one managing and creating the alerts to be sent to their subscribers.

What is the difference between view Inbox and Deleted Messages?

In view Inbox mode, you can view all live incoming messages from your listeners while Deleted Messages are the messages delivered to you for the day that was deleted from your inbox.

Why can’t I create longer Polls or Contests?

The system was designed in a way that you are limited to a certain number of characters in your campaign programs. This was due to the system automatic additions of SMS commands for the listeners to follow when they receive a text message and since we are limited to 160 characters there are chances that we need to create short questions for Polls and Contests.
Ex. If you created this Poll: Which show do you prefer on the 9pm timeslot? A – NEWS Program or B – Sitcom?
The listener will receive:Which show do you prefer? A – NEWS or B – SITCOM?

How many alerts can I send in a day?

You can only send 1 alert per day. Other alerts created will be on queue status.

How can I send a message to a TV station?

You can send a message to a TV station by sending the following text message to 75712
Ex. Text this message: NBC Hi Mom and Dad! send to 75712 Click here to get list of TV station participating in this program.

How can I join a POLL?

You can join a POLL by sending the following text message: POLL to 75712
Ex. Text this message: NBC POLL to 75712 Click here to get list of radio station participating in this program.

Can I download the current POLL question?

Yes, you can download the current POLL question by texting <KEYWORD> POLL to 75712
Ex. Text this message: NBC POLL to 75712 After sending the text message you will receive the POLL question, and you have an option to send your choice.

How can I join a CONTEST?

You can join a CONTEST by sending the following text message: CONTEST to 75712
Ex. Text this message: CBS CONTEST to 75712 OR Text this message: CBS CONTEST Y or N to 75712.

How can I register my nickname?

Registering your nickname is recommended so that the TV station can identify you and can greet and mention your name on air. You can register your nickname by texting NICK to 75712.
Ex. Text this message: NICK Chris to 75712

How can I subscribe to a TV station alert?

You can subscribe by sending the following text message: ALERT to 75712
Ex. Text this message: CBS ALERT to 75712

I don’t want to receive alerts from the TV station. How can I opt-out?

You can opt-out by sending the following text message: STOP to 75712
Ex. Text this message: STOP CBS to 75712

How much are the fee’s for the service?
